VPN Access

VPN Access Control is a form of virtual private network that offers secure internet access to internet users. It’s used by businesses, institutions and individuals as a means of controlling internet access and protecting sensitive information from being intercepted or distributed without their knowledge.

There are several VPN Access Control methods available to control access to networks.

These include; using the DNS system to determine which IP addresses are allowed on a given network and how the user is authenticated. This method is not very secure as it requires the client to have an understanding of how to configure their DNS servers to allow or deny access.

Another method involves the use of the Internet Protocol or IP address as identification for a given network and it’s called Forward Secrecy. This method allows the user to make changes to their internet protocol address but will require them to login and change it manually.

An additional method to restrict internet access is called Tunneling Technology and is usually found in conjunction with the other types of IP security. Tunneling Technology works by allowing for users to bypass firewalls by changing the IP addresses that they’re using.

Security Measures. One common way that IP networks are controlled is through the use of firewalls and intrusion detection systems that monitor network traffic for abnormalities and block them if detected.

Firewalls work by determining what types of internet access are allowed to reach a network and where they are going to go. This allows network administrators to determine what types of data can be accessed on a given network and what types cannot be accessed. It also prevents certain types of internet activities from being possible, including those that may cause network downtime.

Some firewalls allow for logging of internet activity and provide users with alert messages and even automated protection via intrusion detection systems. This provides users with greater security, while still allowing them to surf the internet or access certain forms of media without being hindered by these systems.

Proper administration of these systems will allow the proper use of encryption and protection of information while providing the ability to surf the web.

A user can have the ability to use the same certificate that is used by the CloudFlare service for any website. With that said, a user can create secure connections between websites and an external application through their internal website.
